Edo Health Ministry Hosts Capacity Workshop for 2026 Health Plan

The Edo State Ministry of Health has hosted a four-day leadership and capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening health systems and strategic planning across the state.The workshop, themed “Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative: Leadership, Health Systems Strengthening, and Planning Workshop,” convened health leaders and managers from various Local Government Areas to collaborate on improving healthcare delivery.Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian—representing the Commissioner for Health—described the workshop as a vital step in preparing healthcare managers for the development of the 2026 Annual Operational Plan.Dr. Ehiarimwian highlighted that the training focuses on equipping participants with tools to rethink and enhance Edo State’s health systems, including the adoption of a new web-based dashboard designed to promote transparency, streamline data collection, and support more effective planning.He also reaffirmed the state government’s strong commitment to advancing health outcomes and ensuring a more responsive healthcare system for all residents.Some participants described the training as timely and helpful, noting that it has widened their understanding of health planning and expressed interest in gaining more knowledge in the coming days.
