Edo 2024: Bini Socio-cultural Group Wants Osaro Onaiwu To Vie for PDP Ticket

As registered political parties prepare ahead of the forthcoming Edo State governorship elections come September 2024, a Bini socio-cultural group in Lagos has asked the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and Governor Godwin Obaseki to cede the party’s 2024 governorship ticket to businessman cum politician, Osaro Onaiwu.The group, known as IVBEDO, in a press statement issued in Benin City pointed out that Onaiwu, the former director general of the Saraki 2023 Presidential Campaign Organization, is the only one capable of uniting Edo people if given the opportunity in the forthcoming election.Chairman of the group, Osadolor Adun in the statement, noted that Onaiwu has shown capacity and competence in every area both in the public and private sector, and has demonstrated that he has what it takes to move the state forward if elected governorThe group further hinted that it has already sent emissaries to Onaiwu, an entrepreneur, impresario, and socialite, to throw his hat in the ring and battle for the governorship ticket of the PDP in the 2024 Edo election.Onaiwu, fondly called Mr. Solution by close associates was the founding Director-General of the PDP Governors' Forum and former Director-General of the Nigeria Governors Forum, a former gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressive’s Grand Alliance, (APGA) in the 2016 Edo State governorship election.He studied Mass Communication at the Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, also a graduate of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja he is the founder of fashion houses Jalomeseki Couture and Osaronno, Africa’s first all-white bespoke menswear brand.Onaiwu is popular with his Red-Carpet Protocol, a reputation management consultancy, established in 2006, which serves the corporate needs of the 36 state governments to date, while his Orovie Group, plays big in real estate, hospitality, and media, and he is also heavily involved in a charitable organization called Joy Osaro-Onaiwu Foundation.
