The Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria has called for
collaboration between the society and Edo ministry of Justice
in the fight against intellectual property theft in the state.
The Edo and Delta states coordinator of Musical Copyright
Society of Nigeria and audio-visual society of Nigeria, Biodun
Eguakhide made the call during a courtesy visit to the state
commissioner for justice and Anthony general of Edo state in
his office in Benin City.
According to him, the judiciary adding its voice to the fight
against intellectual property theft in the country will be a boost
to the fight against copyright violators.
While congratulating the Commissioner for his appointment,
he said the fight against copyright is fully backed by law.

On his part, the commissioner for justice and Anthony general
of the state Oluwole Iyamu (SAN) described intellectual
property theft as criminal, noting that the objective of the
society falls within the parameters the state is out to protect.
He further urged them to use creative energy to
encourage positive morality in society.
