Katy Perry has paid tribute to her father, Maurice Keith Hudson, as she made her first performance since giving birth to her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, at the 2020 American Music Awards on Sunday night.

The 36-year-old American singer was joined by former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker for a “reimagined” rendition of her track ‘Only Love’ from her latest LP ‘Smile’.

Ahead of the debut performance of the track at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night, the pop megastar revealed the performance was a tribute to her parent.

Alongside a snap of Katy as a baby in her dad’s arms, she wrote on Instagram: “Tonight’s @amas performance is for my father (sic)”
