OBASEKI ISSUES PROCLAMATION FOR 8TH EDO ASSEMBLY

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has issued the instrument of the proclamation for the inauguration of the 8th Edo State House of Assembly, whose first session will be held on June 16, 2023.This was contained in a letter by the Secretary to the State Government, OsarodionOgie, dated June 14, 2023, and addressed to the Clerk of the Edo State House of Assembly.The letter, which asked for necessary action by the House of Assembly, noted that the proclamation falls under the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.According to the statement, it is provided in Sub-section (3) of Section 105 of the Constitution, that the person elected as Governor shall have the power to issue a Proclamation for the holding of the First Session of the State Assembly immediately after swearing-in.
