Edo state House of Assembly Resolution bill

Meanwhile, the Edo state House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging the state Police command and other security agencies to immediately commence the restructuring of the security formation in the state to tackle the resurgence of Kidnapping in the state.This is a consequence of matters of urgent public importance moved by Honorable Osamwoyin Atu on the increase in the spate of Kidnappings in Igbanke where indigenes have been made to stay away from farming for fear of falling victim of kidnappers who have taken over their farmlands.Atu who had to spend a night in the community to feel the pain of the people, stressed that there is a need for security agents to embark on combing the bushes and forests in the area.In their various contributions, other lawmakers including Hon Kingsley Ugabi, Hon Sunny Ojiezele, Eric Okaka, Hon Maria Edeko, and Hon Asonsere Nicholas,  were unanimous in stating the varying experiences of indigenes across the state, a situation they say can cause food insufficiency in the coming season. The Speaker, Honorable Blessing Agbebaku, then called on the clerk to make the resolution available to relevant authorities for immediate action.In the same development, the  House also considered and passed a Bill for a Law to repeal the Edo State Fisheries Edict, 1991, and enact a law to regulate Fisheries and other related matters.The bill was passed after a clause-by-clause consideration by the committee of the whole during plenary on Tuesday, and the speaker, thereafter called on the clerk of the House Yahaya Omogbai to make clean copies available for assent by the Governor.
